Tristan Sker is a French multi-instrumentalist and composer. He combines acoustic instruments, electronic machines and natural textures in neoclassical music. His unusual approach of the violin brings ethereal or tortured sounds to highly emotionally charged compositions. After many concerts and a first album “Continuum”, he currently dedicates his time to compose soundtracks for contemporary dance, the preparation of his second album which focuses on water, and a minimalist repertoire for sleep concerts.

Tristan grew up in Brittany where he started to play violin from an early age. Soon frustrated by the academic teaching, he gradually shifted away from it, preferring multicultural influences such as Celtic, Arabic, Gypsy jazz and Rock. These experiences led him to learn multiple music instruments and become fully autonomous in composition: Piano, guitar, bass, drums, harmonica, flutes…

At the age of 18 years, his path strayed away from music for 15 years. He travelled all around the world, first as an officer on Navy ships and then as an engineer in offshore wind energy. These experiences have made a lasting impression on his imagination: The breathtaking vastness in the middle of the ocean, the fierceness of a storm ready to break a ship in half, and the indescribable softness of the sunrise over the placid sea…

In 2017 Tristan decided to leave this first life behind and to dedicate himself to music. He first joined the duet Babakar which mixes humour, songs and skits. He then founded the duet TrimsY who navigates between trip hop and dream pop music. In 2019 he launched his solo project and learned by himself the bases of electronic music. These experimentations led to the release of his first solo album “Continuum” in 2023: A call for instrospection and imagination halfway between acoustic and electronic worlds. This album is a starting point towards new horizons: ASMR, deep slow tempo, minimalism, natural sounds thanks to instruments like the water drum… Many trajectories he would like to explore as new ways to approach music.

Tristan Sker takes the listener to an introspective journey where memories and imagination fuse. An invitation to sit quietly in the dark and dive into mesmerizing depths.
